Feast of Tabernacles Sept. 28-30, 20@ Burlington Nazarene Church, Burlington, NJ SCN
joins with an anchor church to bring the Jewish feast to bring tabernacle (tent) worship to the temple by reminding us
about God's provision in the wilderness. Celebrate by building a
booth, cooking traditional foods, camping overnight, music, folk
dancing, teaching, children's activities, campfires, teaching and
making new friends. Tabernacle life remembers the simplicity of God's provision for us apart from our climate controlled comforts and planned systems of support. Because Scripture prescribes and teaches the importance of both temple and tabernacle life, we seek ways to bring the two together.

Recap of March 31, 2007 gathering |
|
|

Beginning with a common meal at ReaLife café in Bridesburg area of Philly, about 50 people met to hear what God is up to and see where Jesus is dwelling among us in very simple ways in our second gathering. We are more Simple Church Vagabonds than a Simple Church Network so far. Meeting new friends, eating, praying and dreaming together helps each of us to next steps where we live. This connection and encouragement is critical to becoming missional in our thoughts, words, acts and relationships because simple church can sometimes be boring, discouraging and overwhelming when we are addicted to church programs and begin to experience the different kind of sacrifice and courage that is needed to reach the harvest on the street with Jesus. In addition to informal visiting and sharing with friends, here are some of the stories we heard and things we are learning…. |
