The Next Simple Church Network Gathering for Greater Philadelphia will be: Saturday September 20th

Greater Philadelphia is on the Heart of the Lord of the Harvest.  Over the last year, He has sent some of the Key International leaders in the Movement to Philadelphia:  Wolfgang Simson and then Neil Cole.  This September, the Lord of the Harvest is again allowing us to be stretched as a network.  We will host veteran Missionary and Simple Church Planting Strategist Ross Rohde for (4) Days.  See Below.    Times and activities are still being worked out, but most of all we want you and anyone else who is interested in the Simple Church Movement to be a part.

Sunday:  Joint Simple Church Fellowship - Greater Philadelphia

1. The number of born again people who (for whatever reason) were no longer connecting with "Church" as we knew it.  15-22 million by some counts.  These precious souls deserve a community of faith where they can be nurtured in their faith and strengthened in their resolve of obedience to King Jesus.  They need a Simple, Powerful, Relevant, Connected and Committed faith community where they can grow into fully mature followers of Jesus Christ.  A biblical community that is not tied to a building, a program, a professional clergy person or a budget.  But one that IS tied to the larger body of Christ and believes that it will "take the Whole Church working Together to Reach the Whole Harvest"  My heart is not that we bring people to church, but rather take the "Church" to the people.  In the Park, In their Homes, at the businesses, Under a Tree, in a classroom etc. 
   
   
2. The Second reason that motivated me is the fact that some experts say that by the year 2020, nearly 50% of those evangelicals who attend "Church" as we know it today will not longer have that as their primary vehicle for connecting with the Living God and his Son.  So we look at whats now and whats coming and seek to follow the leading and preparation of the Lord today.
   
   
3. The final reason is the sheer amount of people who don't have any relationship with Jesus or "Church" at all.  And for them "Church" as we know it is a huge barrier to reaching freedom in Christ.  I could either figure out ways to get them over the barrier or follow the counsel of (Act 15:19) Don't make it difficult for those who are turning to God…" Paraphrase.  Don't make it difficult!  Don't make it difficult!  So we hear you King Jesus. I don't ascribe to cheap grace or easy believism  etc, but I do subscribe to what those of the movement have called for:  "Lower to bar of what it means to do church and RAISE the bar of what it means to be a Disciple"  Let's reach the Lost and Disciple them.
